GLCD Bitmap Converter is a straightforward application you can use to convert common graphics to files with the C format after converting the color palette. It supports a couple of basic editing options.

Simple installation and interface

After a fast and uneventful setup operation, you're greeted by a user-friendly and seemingly outdated GUI, made from a normal window with a neatly structure layout that provides quick access to all options.

You can begin by opening a file with the BMP, JPEG, GIF, EMF, WMF, TIFF, PNG or ICO format, which can be previewed in the main app window. Unfortunately, batch processing isn't supported, so you can convert only one file at a time.

Make images transparent and invert colors

GLCD Bitmap Converter shows the photo's width and height, along with the number of colors used (in the status bar), giving you the possibility to zoom in and out, make the image transparent (only if it has a palette), flip it horizontally or vertically, rotate it by 180 or 90 degrees to any direction, as well as invert pixels or colors.

Convert the color palette

It can be converted to the best possible palette, which is calculated by the program by taking into account the number of colors used. If it has more than 256 colors, it informs you that the conversion will decrease its quality and leaves the decision up to you.

Alternatively, you can convert the color palette to black and white, gray (with 4, 16, 64 or 256 colors), 3-, 6- or 8-bit color, 16-bit RGB 555 or 565, or 24-bit RGB. It's possible to undo and redo your actions, copy the image to the Clipboard, hide the toolbar or status bar, as well as save the modified photo to a C-formatted file (with or without the color palette), or BMP.
